I have a 2000 S-Type 4.0. Had it for about 2 years now. Last month, (yes we live in eastern Iowa) <-VERY cold!!!! One morning, go to start the car....couple clicks, and nothing. Had it jump started. Started right off as soon as the jumper cables were put on. The car is drove every day, not too far from home, but one would think that it was enough since the temp gauge reads normal temp for a warm engine on this car. Even still, it is left to run at the very least 15 mins in the am, and 15 mins in the evening to assure a good charge. Since the first time the car did not start, it has happened 2 more times. It is so sparatic that it is difficult to tell the true problem. The battery was tested, and it reads as a good battery, but with only a 10% charge read. What could this be? I am not overly mechanically inclined, and own only a few basic tools. [:@]

 

Are your lights (inside or out) affected at all? Do they flicker or dim? The reason I ask is that it could be your "alternator". It would be more so if the lights are flickering or dim. If they say its a "good" battery but only has a 10% charge, your "alternator" is what charges and recharges your battery. Feel free to ask more questions are provide me with more info. The lights (in and out) do not flicker at all. There is no "pull" when the engine turns over. If it was the alternator, wouldnt this occur more often than just a couple of times?
