Is it beeping on the outside like the horn or inside like a seatbelt chime?

I think that I also have the same problem. It happens around 85% of the time when I shut the car off or unlock the car doors. It is not the horn, seatbelt, or reverse parking beeps.

I get a chime or ding inside but very rarely and usually when I turn off or start the car but I haven't figured out what it is yet. It probably has some info. in the owners manual.

I get the same beep, usually as I'm backing up. The beep will get progressively faster, but not necessarily louder. Then it will just be a constant beep, as if a life monitor has gone flat lined, and the the car gives me a very hard jump! I usually just put the car in drive, and the beep will go away. I think it might be a transmission problem. On another note, some one hit my rear bumper, and drove away. It's happened a couple of times now!

It sounds like your backup sensors were damaged when you were hit. It's like your car thinks it's getting close to something when ever you backup.

It's a warning that something is not working properly. Beeping sound is coming from the passenger side, under glove box? If so, check your battery and alternator output. Usually that beeping is an early indication that the battery/alternator maybe going bad.

If you can't be of any help don't bother
You know what...you're right bud! I'd be able to help out a little more though if you could tell us where the sound is coming from!

Thebeeps come fromthe dash (steering wheel side, not the glove box side). It is rapid beeping that lasts for about 20-30 seconds when the car is turned off or when the doors are remotely unlocked.

I have a 2003 STR. I just jumped onto the original poster's thread. I don't have the stock radio/navigation. What is the "IP" that jag_genius is speaking of and does anyone know how to fix it or does it have to go to the shop?

If you have an after-market radio, depending on the manufacturer, it will beep a few times if you don't remove the face plate!

The noise is not coming from the radio. It is coming from the dash/steering wheel.

I think it's funny some guy just joins the forum, and mouths off to a mod telling him not to talk if ur not gunna help. like mods don't help the forum.

Could it be that the key is in the ignition when the car isn't on, my car beeps whenever I turn it off until i take the key out.

Also, it's kinda ironic that you made that jooke yesterday Big and then the next day your car is hit in the bumper. Guess your bro didn't know what that beeping was when he hit that pole

Yeah I know! It was ironic! I was quite disappointed when I saw what I had posted....I jinxed it! As for the mod thing, I don't let the power get to my head! I could just mouth him off, but then again, I'd be fighting and not helping! Thanks for the support though mate!
