Beeping S type!!
Thanks jag_genius! My parking brake was occasionally failing, but I thought that it just needed to be adjusted. I would have thought that the service light would have gone on, but it doesn't. Do you ifthe actuator repair would be covered under the Jaguar Select warranty? I also saw two recalls regarding the parking brake on 03s.
My 03 had a defective electronic park brake system (very noisy) and it was replaced under select edition but I couldn't get them to replace the pads even though they are clearly prematurely worn.

I think to do with airbag system. These damn bleeps are something to do with the restraints control module. When I took the fuse out for the rcm the bleeping ( 5 bursts of 5 ) stopped but engine in failsafe mode came on so obviously had to put fuse back in, but does indicate the beeping is related to the airbag system
Hi hermit,
Welcome to the Jaguar Forums!
We're a friendly group around here so please visit the New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum and post an introduction so we can know something about you and your Jaguar.
Also, it is helpful if you add the details about your car to your signature line so others can respond with the most accuracy. Hover your cursor over your username in the upper right corner of this page, and in the dropdown menu click on the first item, User CP. At your Control Panel, click on Edit Signature in the left column under Settings & Options. Add your car's model, year, engine displacement, and any other details that you may deem appropriate.
Cheers,
Don

Unplugging something doesn't prove that the issue was related to it, whenever the something unplugged has lots of connections, e.g. to any of the computer networks, because the network packets pass data that can suppress something that's still connected. So, you may have unplugged X but Y is really the fault and is still connected yet Z is now silent.

I have a 2004 S Type. As soon as I start backing up it beeps for about 10 seconds or so. It sounds the same as the beep I get when nearing something behind me except it is a steady beep.
The beeping from under the dash by the steering wheel,is, I suspect, a fault with a solenoid in the "J gate". I had this same issue a while back, and an auto electrician traced it back to this solenoid. A good 2nd hand J gate cured my problem. Hope this helps, you may want to get it checked to be sure though.
My '03 S-Type beeps when you turn her off and place your shifter in "P"ark. It isn't broke, it's a feature - something Ford added to give ambiance and a touch of American engineering to that classic British style. That, and since my parking brake assembly seems to work fine, I suspect a loose cable/connection between the gear box and transmission, making the car think it isn't quite "parked." At this point, this issue is waaaay down my list of things to fix.
