For the last 2 days when I press the phone button, I get only message that the handset is in use.
Can someone tell me how to get it to connect to my phoneagain?

To fix the handset in use thing, I normally disconnect the BTUM with ignition on. Then plug it back in, cycle ignition and hey presto!!!
Under the center console. Remove cup holder. You will see a 20 torx screw under there. It just pulls up....2 piecces. Then inside arm rest box you will see another one rearward toward drivers side. Remove them. Next open ashtray, pull wood up from around shifter. Then the trim under the wood that goes around radio etc, pull that up and back starting at rear and remove. Be careful not to scratch wood. Now pull armrest box up and you will see a little black module there about half the size of a pack of cigarettes. Follow the harness to back of console and unplug it.
Well since its warranty I took it to the dealer. They kept it all day Friday only to tell me so far they have no idea what is causing the problem. They said dealer tech support was closed and would reopen monday.
guess we'll see monday.
thanks

Jag_genius Cash or a check with 2 ids is ok. turns out it was the BT antenna
must be a small dealer. they had to order one of course. Tomorrow.
they tell me (the dealer) that the BTM is in the trunk and the antenna module is in the center console. did jaguar move the btm from the center console?
The BTUM incorporates the antenna. It is under center console. The module in the trunk is the PSE module that communicated everything to the audio unit. Also stores your phone book.

You'll need the BT module, microphone and whatever as well. There are threads about this - here or the X-Type forum so just follow them
There's also help on jag's site if you look (google if not instantly obvious).

Nope... Need Bluetooth Module, Phone Module, and the microphone and accompanied wire harness sections....Originally Posted by Jag_man81
So if I add a BTUM antenna, does that mean I will have bluetooth capabilities in my car with my iphone? The components (last time someone quoted) were around $1,500.
Since then prices may be less... Try lookin for used components???
