Default Bluetooth retro fit upgrade

Hi all,
I've sourced a phone module for my s type r 2003. I seem to have a phone module connection behind my sat nav, amp & stacker. The phone module i've sourced is a 1x43-10D893-AD. Does anybody know if this module is compatable with the bluetooth system upgrade? I've also checked to see how many wires are in
connector under the arm rest for the bluetooth module to connect too and there appears to be 8 wires. Ive also inspected the same connector that connects to the dvd nav unit in the boot and that connector only appears to have 5 wires. I've read somewhere on this forum that if there are only 5 wires in these connectors the vehicle may not be bluetooth compatable. If somebody can set me straight on this i would be greatly appreciative. Do all the bluetooth modules allow for connection to the most recent smartphones like the iphone 4s. Or do only the lastest bluetooth modules e.g. C2S 38536.
regards
Joe

Sorry Joe, that phone module only works with the Motorola handset, doesn't work with the BTUM.

The module you need is 2W93-19K350-xx (last two letters not important).

You mean the connector in the center console? If you've got 8 pins in that connector then it'll work with the BTUM. If you've only got 5 pins then it'll be a job to add the missing wires. The phone loom doesn't connect to the Satnav module at all. You might be looking at a different loom. Phone connector is a long, dark-grey coloured plug (22 pins?) with a black plastic lock on the back of it. But anyway, if you have 8 pins under the armrest, you should have the wiring you need.

But you need to change your phone module.

Also, the standard microphone in the roof console is poor with the bluetooth phone module. You should change that as well, or maybe you don't have one at all, if the car never had a phone fitted? The wiring will be up inside the roof cavity (remove the roof console) it's a 2-pin connector.

I've not heard of connectivity problems with the X-Type, S-Type, X350 XJ bluetooth phone setup. But have a search on the forum, it's a question that comes up a lot.

Good info given (insert thumbs up here).
But what about the part that is tucked up under the Center console (the actual bluetooth part) how's the best way to find out which part number will work for what year or do all part numbers work ?

Thanks
