Default "Boot open" - Rear module problem

Hello
I've got "boot open" message on my Jaguar S type 2000 all the time. My local Jaguar delar made a diagnostics and I was told I need to order a new Rear Module and recoding of that module is also required. They want 500 euros for that. I bought a new rear module with the same part number on ebay, installed it, but the message remains. Evidently recoding of that module is still needed. Can anybody help me where I can re-code it?

Only a dealer can do it - but it may not need it. Search on here as there may be more if you look.

That the message has not changed suggests that it is not the module at fault. It could be wiring, connector or switch. Have you (or an auto electrician) checked the entire circuit?

that was an idea of a dealer. They made a diagnostic and said the module needs to be changed.

You can choose whether to put more effort in (e.g. use Search) or just believe the dealer.

I would try something simple first. Like grease the latch real good and work it open and close several times. Those little sensors are usually integrated into the latch assembly. Might need to change the latch?
