Default whistling sound when accelerating

Hi guys, just found this forum....have already read some interesting information!

Quick question, I have a 2006 S-Type 3.0L and have recently begun to hear a "whistling" type noise when accelarating. It's not as pronounced when accelerating at low speed but is lounder when accelerating faster. It is faint, almost as if brake calipers are not releasing all the way. Just annoying. Anyone encounter similar? Had rotors and pads replaced about 2 months ago, front and rear.

Can you definitely pinpoint the source to your wheels? Your issue seems more like a whistling moonroof or mirror housing to me....

Typically whistling or humming sounds are because the car doesn't yet know the words to the song. This is usually easy to fix with a little ECU self learning.

Seriously, whistling sounds can be from anywhere. Try listening around the engine for a vacuum leak.

Where in Canada are you from?

it's definetely coming from something related to acceleration, it's tough to pinpoint as it only occurs at a certain accelaration point. I tried monitoring RPM levels when it occurs and have not found a common point. it is not constant, and does not occur when car is idling or once constant speed is attained.

May be slipping belts and/or pulleys, as well as failing transmission pump.

Nope, it wasn't me since my intake manifold has yet to be removed. I believe it was Rick (joycesjag) who did the intake manifold write-up....
