Default Brake pedal won't adjust

Hey folks,

My 05 S-Type's adjustable brake pedal doesn't want to adjust anymore. It clicks/clunks down by the actuator when I try to adjust it, but no movement (fuses are ok). Does anyone have any helpful info on this particular problem before I dig into it further? Thanks,

Bob

I just noticed today on mine. I hear a thumping noise when pressing the button up and down but no noticeable movement.

Yeah, that's exactly what mine does. Anyone have any ideas on the failure mode for this?

Went to the dealer to get it diagnosed, they wanted about $650 for an entire new brake peddal assembly installed. If anyone has any ideas would love to hear it.
