Stay away from "uprated". Akebono pads for less dust. Car details?

Might help if you added your car details to your sig. The brakes changed over the years and with different engine options.

Steer clear of 'drilled and slotted' rotors unless you like bling items.

I definitely second and third the Akebono pads. I got mine from Rock Auto. They definitely put off a lot less dust. I put on the slotted and drilled rotors on the front as I was told by my mechanic that the stock ones are pretty soft. I don't know if they've made much of a difference, however, I'm more confident in my mind that they brake solidly. Plus, they look nicer.

thanks for your advice guys, sorry I dint put what model I have, its an 04 plate s-type 2.7d v6 sport, the reason im thinking of changing is, I had 2 new tyres put on the front and while the wheels were off I noticed the discs were looking pretty worn, (no issues with braking) so I thought I would ask for some advice on here, as always thanks guys

You'll gain nothing with new rotors then- worn appearance doesn't affect function. Wait till the existing pads need changing and have another look.
