(Refurb) A/C Compressor with clutch = $102.00 Ebay same compressor as Lincoln LS

115VAC 2.5 CFM vacuum pump = $104.00 Harbor Freight A/C compressor 2001 3.0 swap DIY cost-100_8717.jpg

R134A Gauge set = $40.00 Harbor Freight A/C compressor 2001 3.0 swap DIY cost-100_8712.jpg

3 cans of freon approximately $60.00

Total cost to DIY approx $306.00. Vacuum pump and gauge set can be used on any car using R134 freon.

Where did the gas go that you vacuumed out?

You should get the 134A evacuated from the system before removing the old compressor. A local garage charges $60.00 to evacuate. I pulled a vacuum on the system for 30 minutes after removing and installing the new compressor.

It should be noted by DIY the warranty on the refurb compressor becomes void. I weighed my options and took my chances.

I have pictures of the High and Low ports if anyone is interested.

If you look at the gauge set picture you will notice styrofoam by the lid cylinders. These were needed because the gauge set weighed the lid down. It didn't pull the lid down imediately but it came down and about mashed my fingures.
