Default Can I just buy the white HID head lamps?

I have a handbook and it mentions something about HID and auto leveling. I wanted a white light for my head lamps can I just buy the headlamps or do I need to buy the whole thing. The ballast and the bulbs making it a aftermarket?
Here is the picture of my car it is a 2005 S-Type 3.0 base model.

I believe that If you have only regular bulbs and want to upgrade to HIDs, you will have to get an HID kit. Perhaps one of the sponsers or a forum member in the know can confirm that you can use an aftermarket HID kit (probably) or if you must use the OEM setup - which includes the bulb, balast, and the igniter. The OEM stuff is real expensive and I've found that the igniter is a pain to install into the bulb and light housing. I presume you are aware that the front bumper etc. must be removed to get to the lights.

Yes, you have the standard halogen headlamps. Glad to see you read the manual! So many don't. LOL The manual gives instructions for both headlights. The easiest way to convert them to true HID lights is to convert the existing headlights. You should be able to install the kit without pulling out the headlight housings. If you decide to install a kit be sure to search the forum for past threads on it. You may run into an issue with the system where you will need to add a resister or something..Sorry I forget the details but remember there was more to it than a simple plug and play.

easiest yes, true HID benefit NO. without projectors the light is scatterred an unfocused. I have several sets of factory HID projector assemblies and theyre plug n play after you change the triggers from power on to ground on(2 wires, and add a relay)
I can send you the set ready to go with wiring an instructions for $700 shipped if youre interested in the proper use of HID's

Very good point Brutal...it can be done in a reflector housing, but its not 'true' benefit of the HID. Projector lenses are a must for the full (and safe) advantages of its use.

I did this on my jeep at first...then went a custom route and added projectors to the factory housing, more common these days with sourcing parts and fitment.

I had been out of town for a while and just got back and was going through all the help posts I had made, Thank you for your post,
and the one you are talking about is this right?
I am not that good with working with the cars so I do not try to do it my-self as I know that I will fk it up. So if I buy that from you all I need to do is take that to my mechanic and they can install it since it will come with all the hardware needed?

I agree with many here, do not retrofit HID bulbs/ballasts into your existing halogen-designed reflectors. The light will scatter and blind oncoming drivers and you will not get full benefit from the added light. The correct way to do this is to retrofit proper HID projector units into your car. That way, the light is focused and cut-off at a certain point so as to not blind oncoming drivers. If it retains the auto leveling feature- even better.

Many don't realize that the filiment that glows in a halogen bulb is often times in a different location from where the gas-filled light-emitting part on a HID bulb is. This slight location change completely messes with the optics of a reflector headlight and mis-directs the light.
