Default Car cranking but not starting.... :-)

Ok just thought i might throw this up as it really helped me today. Anyways wasnt using the Jag since Thursday as i was using company car. This morning decided to take the beast to a short haul to pick Christmas presents from local post office depot. Here comes the problem..............
Crank.....Crank.....Crank no start. Usual drill, So STEP :
1. Fuel (Check......fuel pump working)
2. Air (Clogged filter...Damn) Quick rush to local motor factors and 15min later new filter and Quick Start spray (wallet 20euros lighter) clean whole air intake dismantling all the pipes to the throttle.
Spray Quick Start inside throttle car start for 2 sec and cut off
3. Maybe no fuel in tank then though i knew last time i used it there was fuel. Bought 5 Litres (wallet 9euros lighter)and crank battery finally dies after like 2-3 hours working on car
4.Seat in the car think why the Big Cat is acting like a FIAT(fix it again tomorrow) or FORD (fix or repair daily), Quick Google and post with PATS Code 16 shows up. Thought i would give it a try, Ignition On sure enough code 16 is registering
5. Check all fuses and swapping them over with same value
6. Wait another 20-30min waiting for a friend who kept saying he is 7 min away to Jump start me. While seating in the car post mentioned ECM/PCM not communicating something on those lines which meant car is immobilised or anti theft is triggered. Damn i am not gonna go to Jaguar Dealer without a fight.
7. Rush 6 Flight of stairs to get spare fob/key in the house, Back to the car ignition on blink blink and light out.......... :-)
Immobiliser off finally, friend shows up and in my heart i am betting my life thats done.
8. Sure enough jump leads on and the Big Cat Leaps :-) Happy Times
Hope this helps someone who experience same thing in the future.
And to seal it all................Nice pair of Xenons just fitted this evening.
All in a day's work.

You should investigate why you got PATS code 16. It's anything but normal or common.

Thanx guys, for some reasons the ride after that scare was so comfy and worthwhile. Never enjoyed the big cat so much,And about the Pats coming just thought it was due to me not using car for 4 days and maybe fob battery low so car forgot code.
