Car cutting out during idle

The problem i have withmyJag is that itkeeps stalling during tick over (idle). The car starts normally and drives well, however when I come to a halt and place the car into N or P the revs are normal for about (750 revs)15-30 seconds and then they drop all of a sudden to about 500 revs. Sometimes the car will stall, more so when all electrics are on, if it does not stall it will stay at 500 revs for a short time and then creep back upto normal revs. I have replaced the plastic breather and elbow, but this has made no difference.
Anyone got any idea what could be the cause?

I wonder if this jag is 50 years old? or brand New?
I wonder what model it is....
I wonder what mileage it has on it?
I am trying to read your mind.......................... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ............too hard. I just cant do it through this damn internet.. geeze when are they going to fix it so we can do that?

When you say you replaced the breather hose, one would have to
imagine that it was the small upper one you did at the back of the
intake manifold. Is this so?
If so, spray some throttle cleaner below that hose and see if idle changes.
If lower breather under intake and fuel rail was not done, then I would start there.
I will be posting procedure for replacing that hose later tonight. Meant to do it Monday,
but didnt have time.

The pipe that I replaced is the one that goes under the intake manifold and fits into a rubber sleeve on the throttle body. The pipewas very brittle and I think that it could have be damaged a while before I replaced it.
THen I would follow what I said and spray the carb cleaner at the back of the intake manifold where that pipe goes into a little breather hose then into another intermediate hose then down to the lower breather. Spray all around there while vehicle idling. See if idle changes.
The carb cleaner can tell you a lot. The shops we mail parts to and our own shops seem to go through a lot of intake manifold gaskets as well. The carb cleaner should tell you something there.
Be careful with it and have a fire extinquisher handy. Don't want to start a car-b-que!
