2004 Jag S - was an AZ car so did spend most of life in heat.
Transmission fluid and filter changed

I had that stuck in park thing... got that sorted
Took it for a short drive and car shut off and every thing lit up.

Issue now ... car starts but will not go into reverse or park
Yellow transmission? light on

ideas?

if interested the funny part of the story, I was turning left in residential street almost no traffic, and traffic could pass both sides i walked home got my tools scanner and another car, when I returned 10 minutes later 5 cop cars surrounding.

 

Check two 10mm linkage bolts at gearbox as they may be loose or missing.

 

+1 except they may be 8mm
