Cataylic Converter
Good evening,
I have a 2003 Jaguar S Type 3.0. The check engine light came on and it stated that I need a cataylic converter. I wanted to know do I need to buy a direct fit or can I use a universal one. Thanks in advance.

Though cats eventually fail, first be sure they're the underlying cause. Faulty O2 sensors, loose wire harness connectors, vaccume leaks, etc. should be inspected/considered prior to committing to new cats.
Can you be more specific as to the symptoms, i.e. how does she start, idle, cruise, decellerate, etc. Bring her to an auto parts store or mechanic who can download trouble codes. Did you recently run her in a heavy rain? Does she have the underbelly (under engine) pan in place? Check for loose connectors and grounds. Do you smell a transmission fluid odor?
