I have just bought another Cat, a 2004 S-type 2.7D SE with the big satnav touch screen but it will not let me insert a CD in the Slot on the front and the screen just says CD ERROR. I get no codes, no ideas just CD ERROR. Does anyone have any ideas.

 

Someone most likely got a disc stuck inside the unit and left it that way. You may have a broken CD player but use a credit card and gently pry around CD slot while pushing the eject button. Several people have got the CD out that way.

Otherwise remove the unit and try to get it out from the back. It would very useful to power it up on the bench somehow while doing this.

If you bought it from a trader you can just require them to fix it. You probably lose that right if you try to DIY.

 

Thanks Guys, will try the dealer first but if no joy will remove the module and bench it to find the issue or replace the unit.

 

Are you putting it in the NAV DVD in the trunk?

Sorry for the confusion, no the Nav DVD is in the trunk of the car, the CD player and the place i am trying to insert the CD is located in the dashboard under the touch screen nect to the radio on off and volume buttom.
