Default CD Player Left Channel Out

Hello all,

I have noticed recently that when I play my CD Player very little sound is comming out of the left channel front and rear speakers. The only sound is from the sub woofer. AM/FM radio seems to work fine but CD Player is the only thing with this problem.

I put a disc doctor to clean the optical but no change to problem.

Can anyone give advice?

Yes, that would be the first thing to check. A neat feature I noticed on my car when I had it was that the audio settings can be different for each source.

If the audio settings don't help it may be a failing CD unit. They are fairly inexpensive on E-Bay right now. Many can be had for less than $100.00.

I tried the menu, no solution yet.

This is on the single CD player on head unit. AM/FM works fine and all speakers are registering. Only the Single CD Player is missing the left channels.

Take it out, check its connections, replace entire unit if needs be? I don't think any more is to be done here until you've had it apart and done checks.

Wink

Problem fixed. It turns out that there was corrosion in the amplifier caused by water. Also the CD Changer was not functioning (separate issue). I suspect that the previous owner attempted to repair the CD Changer and rain got into the amplifier during the process. Both items ran me $300 at an electronics repair shop in Redmond WA. Big repair bill but cheaper than gutting the whole system. Now both CD player and CD Changer work fine. Awsome sound for an OEM system.

Ouch! Water should not get in there - is the way in fixed?
