3L petrol MY05, 127,000km - Occasionally, although with increasing frequency, the central locking does not release when the car is stopped and the engine switched off. Scarily it is impossible to open the doors by releasing the lock button. Only way to exit the car is to activate the unlock button on the remote.

Any thoughts and ideas as to where the problem lies and what to do to rectify it would be much appreciated.

That seems to mean the car has double-locked (aka deadlocked), thus disabling the internal levers and button. I thought that extra feature (extra stage of locking, if you prefer those words) could only be set by the remote in which case maybe that's where the actual fault is.

 

Thanks, I'll try using the other remote for a while and see if I can either confirm or eliminate it. Geoff
