Check Engine light 2003 S-Type
I replaced left valve cover gasket as it was leaking.... while I had it off I had the cam solenoid unplugged and then I turned the key on too put the car in neutral to move it....everything is back together but the check engine light is on when I clear it...it comes back on...the engine is running very smooth and seems ok...but can't get the light to stay off any suggestions...
Rule #1 when working on your Jaguar disconnect the battery before you unplug anything!
Do a hard reset and be sure the code is cleared with your code reader. When you restart the car the engine will go to high RPM then it will go to normal idle.

Disconnect both terminals at the battery; wait ten minutes, then touch the two terminals to each other for ten seconds prior to reconnecting them to the battery beginning with the positive (+) terminal.
