I'm no mindreader, but perphaps this code is the same for all vehicle models, just be sure to give some year, model, and engine types when going for these questions, k?
I took a stab, and did a trouble code search on a 2001 S-type, got this...
P1584 EMS
OBD II
Throttle actuation malfunction KOEO – page 3, or
KOER – page 3, or
Comprehensive component
monitor engine management
drive cycle – page 7
2 A, M PCM Default:
Failure Mode #1:
TACM operates in open loop
control. (Engine may stall and
throttle response will be
harsh.)
Failure Mode #2:
TACM operates in normal
closed loop mode but with
reduced torque output.
(Engine may stall.)
Throttle Body failure

Ihave a jaguar s type 3.0 v-6 it comes up on the dash as fail safe mode.The mechanic i took it to did me a favor and ran it thru the computer and told me code p1584 .....He mentioned something about the throttle body i just wanted to make sure before i decided to buythat part .....any help
