Default Coils again ? injectors?

One week after I bought my 06 / 3.0 S Type I ran through 4" water on the road too fast and went into restricted mode.. I was close so I took it to Eurotech who called later and said I needed coils so of course I said go ahead. When I picked up the car he had only replaced 4 coils so I was a little mad he didn't call and ask if I wanted all 6 replaced. I surely would have said yes considering the labor to remove and replace the intake. The car ran great for over 3yrs but yesterday on first acceleration it went into restricted performance again. I turned and came home to hook up my iCarsoft and sure enough I scrolled through and found 5 misfires on #3 and 45 on #5 that I guess is just since I restarted the engine.. My question is could the misfires be related to injectors ? Another mechanic asked the mileage then said I might need a carbon cleaning process but I think it's coils again. It's strange that 2 coils would fail at the same time bone dry... Thanks for any help you can offer .

Crap..I can't edit the title.. I do know how to spell injectors

Fixed that for you.
I wouldn't rush at the carbon cleaning.
Injectors are possible but the coils are more likely, unfortunately 3 & 5 are both under the manifold.

How long has it been since the spark plugs were changed as well? I believe that the service interval on the plugs is 70K miles, thus, if the mileage indicated on your signature line is accurate, you are coming up on the second spark plug change on the engine.

Personally, I would change the coil packs and plugs in the cylinders under the intake manifold and see what happens. Given the access issues, I would use original or OEM coil packs too. Good luck in getting this all sorted.

Thank you, that was my thought also.

It's also possible there is oil in the spark plug wells causing the coil units to short, creating misfires. If the spark plugs are being replaced, it may be a good idea to consider replacing the cam cover gasket and spark plug boss seal on Bank 1 since that side requires removal of the upper inlet manifold.
