Default Converting '07 Non-brembo brakes to an '05 Brembo setup?

Hello all, I have a chance to buy a complete set of Hubs, Calipers and Rotors from a wrecked '04 S-Type R from a local outfit. It had 44,000 miles on it and was smashed in the front. The complete set is $450. Is this a simple direct swap over or is it very complicated? Thanks

Is it front and rears. For 450 it wouldn't be bad to get them to try. Not sure how different the master cylinder is. Also now sure how different the spindles are. I know the rear you will need a different spindle since you will have to have 2 calipers. One for your brakes and then the E-brake. The spindle for the 03-05 should have the mountings for both. So make sure you get that as well. The fronts you will probably need the spindle as well as I'm not too sure but the mounting points of the Brembo and your stock caliper are probably gonna be different. I'm gonna try and get my brake videos editted but I have footage of the 05 Brembo setup in case you want to see to compare parts in case there is anything else involved. Wouldnt be a bad little project to take on especially if you are getting all that for 450.

Yes, in the US market the 2005 STR was the last year for Brembo's. The year is different for different markets.

The brake change occured for the 05 model (Europe) 06 model (NA).

They changed the brake system for all cars not just the R. The base car had dual piston front calipers up until the change over in 2006 (North America)...

Quick reference... The first year for the S was 1999 in Europe... The refresh is called the 2002.5 in Europe.....The body change is 2004 in Europe.....The R engine tuning and all model brake change is 2005 in Europe.... North America market cars run approximately one model year behind....

You will probably need new the wheels as well to clear the larger rotors and huge Brembo calipers.

He has an R so he should be good for wheels. The 06+ has the same wheels as the 05 with the Brembos so clearance shouldnt be an issue at all. They even had the option of going with the Barcelona's.

I have the 19" wheels, so all I need to do is swap the hubs, calipers and rotors over right? I'm going to ask the dealer how much it would cost to do it, im not comfortable in doing this task. I actually think the brakes are pretty good on the car now, but I know they are not as good as my '05 R was. Those stopped on a freakin' dime...

If you are calling the entire hub and spindle assembly the hub then you might be good. Not sure if anything else is different. The E-brake lines may be different since the E-brake has a seperate caliper on the Brembo setup. Other then that I'd give it a try.

I think he will need the EBP module, actuator motors and mechanical cables.

Im pretty sure the module from the Bembo STR is calibrated to the secondary caliper.
