Default Coolant leak/passenger side cool and drivers side warm

Hey there I have a 2007 s-type 2.7 d, I bought it in January as a private sale, my first 30 miles and it stopped, was the EGI valve which ive had sorted with a big service, £450.. now ive noticed its got a coolant leak and cant see where from nothing on the ground but also the aircon blows cool on the passenger side and warm on the drivers, also the drivers footwell gets real warm and the only way to stop it is to turn the heaters off totally. I dont surpose anyone has any ideas? many thanks oh it has 89k on her and ive done 400 miles of that.....

There are several potential leak areas. Start by checking the bottom of the coolant expansion bottle and the water pump. Your coolant control valve may be the cause of your heater anomalies, or airlocks.

You see im wondering if its the coolant control valve to given the fans all work, theres blowing just its warm on the drivers regardless and the passenger side works as its meant to, ive check the fuse and its fine so I think that suggests nothing is fried, but my understanding is once the valve starts to go it can leak coolant to? Im no expert at all in fact im just starting to look at them in depth. The engine from the top looks dry, the tank looks to have to leaks.

Sounds like two separate issues.

1) For the coolant leak, beg, borrow, or steal a cooling system pressure tester. It looks like a bicycle pump which connects to the neck of the coolant reservoir, in place of the cap. You manually pump up the system and see if it will hold pressure for 15 minutes. This will also let you look for leaks without the danger of burns or moving parts.

As you have already discovered, you often won’t find much looking with the engine running. System pressure is very low just sitting there at idle, and minor leaks can evaporate immediately. The pressure tester is great because it builds up pressure to make minor leaks easier to find.

Fix any leaks before moving on to the next step.

2) For the temperature split, follow this troubleshooting guide. Start with the test in post #2 and proceed from there.

As it goes I had bought a pressure tester a few days after buying the care, I had a niggling feeling after the EGI went on it so I prepared for this to have happened. I mean perhaps I was a fool buying a car that needed a service but I like the car so now have to fix it.
Yes the only thing I managed to sort was what the air con was doing as it had heated up a little. I appreciate and and all tips thanks

Ok, Morning all firstly great shout on the pressure test, id done it before and it only dropped 1/1.5 psi over 45 mins before however this time I took the engine cover off and looked down and I could see it was wet, i wasnt sure if it was oil so I proceeded to pressure test now excuse my terminology but I found my problem, the pipe that leads out the coolant tank goes into something and its the something its leaking from. under pressure it really gave. As you can see ive added photos and its the something with the numbers on that is leaking, anyone know how easy that is to replace and what it is.. again sorry for my lack of knowledge.

Possible, but no guarantees. From Troubleshooting 101: Fix the known problems before digging deeper elsewhere.

Well managed to sort the leak and have ordered a heating control valve as when I had the front wheel off and liner I could see the existing one and it looks rather cruddy and as they arent expensive will replace and see what happens. fuses are fine also
