As many of you who have followed me here for a while know I have been actively restoring and upgrading my 2003 STR.

Once of my most recent and IMO COOLEST upgrades I have installed are the new Puddle Lights.

These things light up when you open the door and shine down on the pavement with an AWESOME Jaguar logo! Not so bright in the daylight but man super cool in my garage and at night!!

Here is what it looks like shining on the ground in my parking garage at home.

Those would probably work too in loking at them although they look a bit longer than the ones I got.

These are the EXACT ones I bought, I actually thought about doing 2 sets and adding these to the rear doors too, but there are no lights in the rear doors to wire these into. I basically tapped into the door lights to wire these up so when you open the door the door lights and these all come on together and go off together. It was super easy dont even have to take the door panel off just loosen the bottom find your location (I mounted mine almost directly under the existing door lights) drill the hole install the tube connect the wires and VIOLA!!!

I realise there are snags. That is a particularly worrying one.
Perhaps, like the guy many years ago who wired up his nearside Lotus retracting headlight and painted eyelashes on it so he could drive along and wink at the birds, a switch would be a good idea.
Maybe even a selector - straight lighting for SWMBO, bottle of RM for JFOFs etc ?

 

Well the old dears in my computer class seem to think so, judging by all the Gateaux.

You just need to add one of those 70's disco light filters, each with a different message depending on circumstances.
