Default Custom Ipod interface...

I was wondering if anyone has purchased this kit? I really don’t care for Ipod’s and prefer my sony mini disc player, so I asked the seller if there was a way of making it compatible with other types of ‘audio device’? He says that they can substitute a 3.5mm to RCA plug instead of the ipod connection. Only problem is that this kit doesn’t come with any instructions. I’m pretty handy once I know what I’m doing, but with no instructions, I don’t see how I could plug this in? Anyone have an Ipod or any similar to audio device and do it themselves?

I basically need instructions. I would love to buy this kit and not just have it sit around collecting dust. I remember reading that Jaguar charges two hours of labor for this install? Yikes that’s $200…

I was considering buying this too as I don't even have premium sound thus I'm forced to carry a CD case if I want more than an hour of music from a CD...I'm not yet 100% sure if I'm keeping the Jag.

Anyways. The picture and description seem to be contridicting. The picture shows a positve and negative connection and an set of RCAs. If that actually is the exact item one gets, it must get pluged into the an adapter which gets pluged into the antenna input then the jag antenna wire gets pluged into the adapter. In his description there's no mention of the negative or positive connection, perhaps it was left out for whatever reason. If the seller is claim they took four monthes to create this part, you'd think they give you some sort of directions.

I have used wired FM modulators before and find they interfere with the reception quality from the radio. Even if you switch them off. OK if you never want to listen to the radio, but otherwise I'd give them a mis

Since I'm not using my cd changer, I'm sure there's a way you can rig it into the changer input. I don't think I care enough...

Hey guys look here - little more than eBay, but at least a reputable vendor.

Yea, I generally ues Crutchfield's website as a research tool and then go looking around to see if I can get it at a more responsible price, namely eBay, but not always. Anyway, good luck in your hunt!

Bacardi 151, do also own an Linclon LS? I forgot who, but I know someone on this board owns both vehicles?

My S-type has the Navi, so I don't know if it even matters? Anyone who if this kit will work with the OEM Alpine Navi?
