Hi, I broke the cylinder head temperature sensor and now looking for a replacement one on ebay. The cost of the detail is around 140 USD and there is also the one for 3l v6 Lincoln. Lincoln's temperature sensor looks exactly the same except for the darker color of the material. The lincoln one cost 50 USD, which is a huge difference. I was wondering if I could simply replace it with the Lincoln one?
I googled a bit for you...: The base LS was powered by an all-aluminum 3.0 L DOHC V6 that was a variant of the Jaguar AJ-V6 engine.
And there are certain similarities and certain differences.
I guess there is only one way to find out - buy the Lincoln sensor, and let us know, if it works.
The one thing I could find out: The Lincoln sensor has a M10 x 1.5 Thread.
Hence, before you order the Lincoln sensor, check, if your Jag sensor is also M10 and pitch 1.5.
When I searched by that part number, I found a couple of aftermarket versions. The application charts showed the early Jaguar V6 only. Even though the two parts looks similar, there must be some minor differences with the Lincoln version.
