Default Dipstick length / 2003 S-type 3.0

Been having a hard time finding a replacement dipstick for my 2003 S-type V6 (using a plug in the meantime). Tempted to just buy a universal Dorman dipstick but I'm wondering what the length of the OEM stock dipstick is?

Does anyone know or would someone be so kind and measure the dipstick (excluding the handle)? Thanks!

Anyone? Please measure your dipstick? Overall length and distance from the bottom to the LOW and HIGH marks. Thanks. The DORMAN universal is 23 7/8 in long.

It still may not fit - why not buy the right one either from a breaker or dealer?

I agree with jagv8, contact Nalley Jaguar (forum sponser and great guys to deal with) for an original.

Part # XR8E-6750-CA (MY 2003 and up)

But heres the pics that you requested:

Yes in the following picture I had to use a black magic marker to get the lines to show, it is removed before putting the dip stick back into the motor. FYI for all you keen eyeballers...you know who you are

Update: Bought the Dorman Universal Dipstick 65116 from Advance Auto Parts. It fits. It's a bit thicker and longer than the OEM but it will do. The length is really not a problem as it has an adjustable stop which I set at 19 3/4 inches. The extra thickness makes the dipstick a bit challenging to push through but once lubricated it's fine. For $7 out the door after P20 coupon it sure beats driving 120 miles to a dealer or paying $35 to have an OEM dipstick shipped.

Should have bought an OEM stick. This kind of thinking and practice that makes these cars into money pits.

It needs to seal at the top.
