Default Door lock issues

On my 2006 S-Type the remote door lock stopped working. The remote is sending the signal but the control module in the car needs to be reprogrammed. The only key I have starts the car but does not open the car door. In my area in North Carolina no locksmith works on Jaguars. The Jaguar dealers do not service anything older than 2012.
Does anyone have any
suggestions?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The most common reason that the remote stops working is that one of the circuit mounted switches remains in the 'on' position. (Usualy the lock or unlock button.)
This will stop all the switches on the remote from working properly.
The car will either see no signal at all with the one that is always 'on' as it has timmed out or if one of the other buttons is pressed it will send the wrong signal, as if two buttons were pressed at the same time.

I guess that your door lock has been changed at some point in the cars history.
