Default Car door security module not working

Hi everyone,

I recently needed to replace the control rod on my Jaguar XF 2013 (V6) and the mechanic doing the job unhooked the battery to remove some of the electricals in the way (about three weeks back). The car's doors won't lock now with the key fob or the controls on the dash. After reading up more on this, it looks like I have to go through the battery reset procedure and the immobilizer routine. I called the Jaguar dealership in town and they seemed to know what I was talking about but they were about three weeks out for the earliest appointment. So I called another dealership about an hour away and they totally refused to do this. They just said that they would have to replace the modules. The earliest appointment at their place was about two days away but since they refused to look into what I was asking for, I didn't make an appointment. My question is, is there something I should be mentioning to the dealership in town when I go for my appointment tomorrow? If they can't get my door locks to work, would there be any other option to make this work without replacing the modules entirely?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Taken from FB..........

Jaguar XF remote lock/key not recognised issues.

I've been getting many requests from the group via word of mouth and I've done quite a few.

Issue one most common:

Car won't lock after battery disconnect. This is solved via immobilisation in SDD.

Issue two less common:

Key not recognised at all hence no ignition, immobilisation not possible.

This is done via cluster reprogram as it will bypass the key sequence, turns ignition itself and do the immobilisation at the end.

This will also update cluster to latest software, bonus.

Please don't throw suitcases of money on KVM module/keys and what not, I've never seen a faulty KVM module.

Thank you for replying and providing this info! I took my car in and spoke to the mechanic about this. He listened to me and told me that he would try what I had suggested and it worked!
