The Dreaded Lurch
Sadly there appears to be no easy permanent cure. Check this thread

Thanks for posting that link.
I asked the local dealer about pricing on a couple of items for my car. One was the lurch. He said $187.50 for them to "check it out" then they can tell me how much to repair based on the problem they find!

If you read the TSBs, or just their titles (which are freely available), I think you'll find Jaguar don't call it a lurch. They call it harsh shifts or harsh shifting, so maybe using the same terminology with a dealer (remember they're not usually part of Jaguar) would work.
Or take the TSB titles / numbers

I was hoping someone would post enough information to help us all know.
I posted my car's calibration IDs for PCM and TCM in the hope they would assist. No-one's posted anything else, as far as I know.
That leaves asking a jag dealer or perhaps Jaguar themselves (rather than a dealer i.e. a franchise).

But, how does one know if these have been done when buying a used Jag? If you take it to the dealer they may want the $125 (or more) as mentioned earlier just to look at it.
Any Jaguar dealer should be able to check by VIN. what work was done on your car including reflashes. I cant imagine them charging you to check on the computer for this info but some dealers will charge you for everything! For what it's worth I had a Mazda 6 loaner the other day while my car was in for a window regulator and it had a slight push right before stopping too! I think the 6 speed tranny's just have to many gears to get back into 1st while you are still at a speed that you don't feel it. Some are harsher than others. I have had every possible reflash, reset and software update possible and I still get it very slightly most of the time but it is way better then it was. Every so often I will do a hard reset myself and it seems to help.

His point was, I think, that the jag dealer may want to charge for doing it.
If it's the jag dealer that's trying to sell the car they should be happy to check for free.
Otherwise, yes they may charge. You want them to spend time so it kinda follows.
Or, you could read what software versions ("calibrations") are in the modules - but you need a tool to do it and you need to know what the calibrations SHOULD be.
