Default Dsc fault and lost braking power at same time

Hi I own a 2001 jaguar s type with the v8. When I started my baby today she had no lights or warnings but on my way out to work dsc fault showed up on my dash and I lost braking power at the same time. I love my car and want to get her fixed ASAP anyone have any ideas as to what could be possibly going on with my baby?

When you say braking power do you mean actual stopping of the car or harder to push the brake pedal itself...first check is fluid level or any brake fluid leaks

The actual stopping of the car. brake peddle can be pushed to the floor easily

Well, double check brake fluid reservoir....did you inspect all 4 calipers from underneath the car for leaks at the backside....if the pedal is going to the floor that is a dangerous problem....do you here any grinding or metallic noise when you apply the brakes indicating destroyed brake pads.....if the fluid level is good then there is a possible master cylinder failure....either way use discretion if you need to drive it...if you have less than 50% braking ability i would avoid driving it all together until properly diagnosed.....do you have a helper that can apply the brakes so you can look at things

You are welcome....you might have to take 1 wheel off at a time to get a good look at calipers, pads and brake lines
