EGR and O2 codes: related?
Hi all,
My mothers car, a 2000 S-Type has a check engine light that she said comes on for a bit then goes off. I read this the other day when it was on. It had 2 codes: a P0133: Oxygen sensor slow respone *codes* A U, and a P0401: Exhaust gas recirculation flow insufficient detected.
Are these related or not? I was planning to look at the egr inlet on the manifold (never done it before, any advice?) but im not sure if i should order an o2 sensor as well or not...
thanks in advance.

I've moved you question from Jaguar Forums Advice / Feedback & Suggestion Center section to S-Type section.
Members here with the same model as your mother will be able to advise on the CEL and the codes.

I don't think they're related (think about the paths of gases/vapours). The O2 is vital for proper fuelling and catconv is at risk if not right so I'd study its waveform or probably just replace it.
Grab JTIS if you haven't already and look up EGR.
