Default Electric Seat Dilemma

My seat no longer returns or retracts to the "let me out of here" possition when I turn the car off. 2000 S Type. The pre-selected positions still work.
Any advise?

I think that is a driver-optional setting. I would check my owner's manual and try to reset it. Good Luck!

Thanks, very helpful. My wife had driven the car when it stopped working and then again yesterday. Got in this morning and it was working again. She likes to fiddle with the controls so I'll check to see which position that knobs in today!

If all else fails, consult the handbook

Wow, a Jag guy who's most serious problem is a knob turned wrong. No Fair.

Not quite so Lucky, just a situation I wasn't aware of. Just bought this one a month or so ago. Needs trans work, replaced all the coils and plugs and can't find an ashtray lid. I've only driven it about 1100 miles so I'm sure there's more to come. Know a good headliner guy?

you can find "recyclers" on ebay for an ash tray lid. What's going on with the trans, is it throwing codes or just shifting weird, check trans fluid level and cleanness, check shift cable and mount bolts.

Slips a bit, shop says it is the O-ring which is on the tine going into the torque converter causing the slippage. Thanks, I will check on eBay for that lid.

O rings that cause slippages? I thought those were caused by bands or something.

Apparently it allows oil to seep into the converter and it doesn't "convert" correctly. Causes RPMs to surge so I have to drive it like a very old woman until I get it fixed for a grand. As long as I baby it, it does fine. Have to by Mama a new Maxima first of the month so my old baby has to wait! Hopefully with the new ring and service it will run good for a while. Fortunately I bought it right, however; the more it cost the further from right it gets.
