Default Engine rattle on startup 2004 4.2

Hello everyone
has anyone out there with the 4.2 N/A
Had this problem
Getting a engine rattle on startup for 2 seconds after engine being sitting overnight
Can also be intermittent
Also depending on how I've parked vehicle
Once been started all quiet for the rest of day
this engine has only done 2000 kilometers since complete engine rebuild 12 thousands it cost just for the parts all parts came from sng Barratt United Kingdom
I have checked timing chains and guides and tensioners
all good nice and tight
Only thing that wasn't replaced was sump pan and engine block
Used my jlridssddmongoose no codes at all
any thoughts
Thanking you
Darrol

Just an idea:
Year ago I did have a rattle for the first few seconds after startup on my 3.2L X308
Initially I mistakenly thought (and I was pretty sure about it, that that noise is from the timing chains, hence I swapped those and their tensioners and guide (which was a pretty good thing to do anyways, BUT this did not solve the issue of the rattling!
What is was: In one of the catalysts the honeycombs were sitting utterly loose and for some reason making a heck of a noise only for about 10 sec. after "cold" (whatever you can call "cold" in Australia, i.e. 20°C) startup.

Use a "mechanics stethoscope" to confirm, where the noise comes from - and check especially the cats.
A mechanics stethoscope is a huge screwdriver: You hold the metal end on the source of possible rattling, and you hold your ear onto the grip!

Take the belts off and start the car. Let's eliminate the simple stuff first.

HI
Can be common on VVT engines, ttry using a engine flush a few times, which is known to cure it, the oil way to the vvt can get blocked with age and lack of oil changes
common on later S-type R, the N/A has VVt as well
cheers
Joe

Hello thanks for reply
engine was rebrebuilt just over a year ago
block and heads were Chemically dipped cleaned
Brand new vvt solenoids timing chains ect
engine has only done 2000 km since rebuild
so honestly there should be no build up of anything
Hasn't made a rattling noise for 3 weeks now
Thanking you
Darrol

Hello Peter
Have used a stethoscope and a bore scope
Catalytic converters are in perfect condition
Noise was coming from where vvt solenoid is
Removed that replaced with a old one
Noise was still there
Decided to do a oil change went from penrite full synthetic 5/30 to mobile one full synthetic 5/30
Had no Noise in three weeks
Thanking you

Good outcome with that oil change!
Can't get a better repair than that.
