Failed Inspection
Not as bad as it sounds, I got home on Thursday night, the S Type needs tags, so I zipped down this morning, all good except the gas cap.
It was just after ten so I thought I had no more to do than run down to the dealer and pick up a new one, gave them a call and the parts dept are closed on Saturday!!
Why would anyone not have their parts dept open on a Saturday morning?

They are actually testing the cap, I didn't see the procedure as I was confidently waiting for my pass cert.
There were no codes a small evap leak P0442 only requires a 0.04" aperture.
I'll pay more attention on Monday.

Good Luck.
Passed today, the new cap was $30 + tax.
The old seal was stretched out of shape where it hangs on the lanyard during fueling.
Mikey, they have an adapter that the cap is screwed into and hooked up to the test computer with a tube that pressurises it.
