Dude its your accelerator pedal. This happened to me as well and I noticed that everytime I gassed it the fail safe light would come on. The amber colored light would come on first and sometimesthe red light then the car would lose power. It's a sensor in the accelerator pedal thats causing the car to go into fail safe mode. You have to replace the pedal.
