Farewell :(
I have owned my Jag for four years now. In that time I have swapped out the cats, replaced right front wishbone, front shocks, and the usual brakes, tyres, plugs, etc. I bought her with 72,000 on the clock and now she stands at 158,500. Still beautiful to drive. Comfortable, giving and always ready and willing to do whatever is asked. Alas I need to increase my MPG.
Looking at new cats and left front ball joint to keep her happy but I decided to use the money and trade her in instead. She will be missed big time.
If anyone in the Seattle area wants to buy her for parts or a project you are welcome to contact me. I will let you take her for the trade in price.
Thank you all for being there for me when I needed you most and I hope my small contribution helped at least one person.
Thanks all.
Mark

Mark, great to have you here with us and I hope you enjoyed your experience here?
I wish you luck in changing out your ride and hope you get something you enjoy that serves you as well.
Remember, even if its not a Jag you're always still welcome here.
I am at 103,443 and hoping to make it to that 150,000 mark. Good luck with your next purchase.

I would like to make it to 158,000 miles without going completely bankrupt.
Nevertheless, despite the S-types mechanical faults, I mostly love driving the car. I haven't had a car as quiet that can handle and drive as well as this one. It gets good mileage for its size as well.
Unfortunately for me, the S-type is a hard act to follow.
Compared to its competiton, it does not really exceed them in performance categories, but its ride is what sets it apart.
In the 1950's and 1960's Jaguar used the words "grace, space and pace" to describe the marque, which became a "different breed of cat" in the late 1960's. Those words still apply to the 2000-2008 S-type.
You are giving up the "uncommon luxury" or Jaguar's "private world."
Sad yet? Don't be. There are plenty of Jaguar's for sale in today's market and you can always come back to Jag. Keep that in mind.
Hopefully sooner than later. Good luck.

I have been without her for just over 24 hours and I do miss the ride. I do have the excitement of a SAAB 9-3 ARC convertible. Luckily I only lost 30 Horses.
So far I am noticing a slight loss of power and smoothness of ride but I know the insurance and gas will compensate me. FWD is strange and tends to weave a little when I put my foot down but I do like the sound of the Turbo.
All of my cars have been impulse buys. I see the car and know it is mine and I have been VERY lucky in that regards. Keeping fingers crossed for this one.Give me five years and I will have an XKR convertible (I hope).
On a side note, I salvaged the CD cassette if anyone wants to make an offer. I also have a pair of 700 series AUTOSOCk (AutoSock video - YouTube) for sale. These are best viewed VIA Youtube and have never been used. Offers welcome
Thanks all for your comments. I will be hanging around.

Excellent...High odds Saab is going under; used is fine, the new purchase with the Saab warranty is in question...Saab will probably not honor their warranty if they go under, 3rd party is fine...
Since it looks like SAAB is going belly up, how is the parts situation? I assume the warranty is a third person warranty, otherwise that might be questionable as well.
