Default A few basic maint spec questions

Hi all,

Quick, I think, questions on my 2002 S type 3.0

1) What are the front and rear rotor specs? What is the range of thickness that is in and out of spec?

2) How much oil does this thing take?

3) How much coolant does it take? Any specific kind?

4) Anything special I should look for or check during a basic service?

Thanks

You REALLY want this:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/a...4&d=1269505095

but also read previous threads about servicing and common faults such as coils, PCV elbow, IMT gaskets and so on.

Whatever you do, don't use a different coolant.

Cool. That's nice to have. Thanks.

Anyone have the rotor specs?

Some searches will get you the data. Or use an online parts supplier and give them your VIN.

Make sure you work out whether your car is pre- or post- facelift. See current thread about P1388.

Be sure to read extensively on this forum as overall will save you time and $$$

Do I dare ask why not a different coolant?

It's been covered before and is also on the net, so for details do some searches but in brief you risk getting a gel that blocks up places you need coolant flow and then catastrophic damage. If you're "lucky" you might only block the heater matrix but look in jtis how you change that and "lucky" is not what you'll feel.
