Very easy. You take the top bolts out first, via the inside once the centre console is removed.

You need to be able to pivot the engine gearbox assembly by removing the propshaft, gearbox mounts, now allow it to pivot down enough until you can access the top bellhousing fixings.

Once you've got those out, then remove the rest.

Hey guys! I've working on a 2002 Jaguar S-Type. Is there a specific programming or road test sequence i need to complete after swapping out the tranny? Thanks

Don't think so but drive cycle is in codes PDF in stickies & JTIS - both free download.

Thanks josvantbos for saving me from making the same mistake. Getting ready to reinstall main valve body after installing spring kit. Like you, don't think I would've remembered to seat the gear lever pin to the valve properly. 'Appreciate your post. Thanks again and good luck. Hope your tranny is holding up well. R/Manny

ps prime the pump on the r5 or it will go bang.
