i don't know were to find this info . but looks to me you will have to remove the front apron/bumper then remove the front wing/gaurd ,
then pull the rubber grommet from the a pillar to disconnect the harness then remove the bolts that attaches the hinge to the a pillar and it should come off!

Daimler is correct. I removed the left front door on the 05 to mend a wiring loom. Don't recall if my pics/how-to's show much about door R&R, but I'll find it and edit a link in case it is helpful.

The window glass was already down. I suspended the door from the overhead using two fabric ratchet-straps around the upper window-frame. Wire loom extraction is well-documented therein. Otherwise, I recall it was only about 4 hinge fixing bolts and Bob's-yer-uncle!

Not sure if you are referring to getting the hinge-bolts started? Or final alignment with even seams and no wind-noise, etc?
If the former, I think it depends on your set-up. I have no ceiling in the shop, just trusses in the overhead, so I strung a couple of tie-down straps from one and looped the free ends around the door frame. When I removed the bolts, it swung out and aft a bit, as I recall. For installation, I hung the door from the straps, then repositioned the car to where the door was: Yes! As a matter of fact, tooling about in an S-Type sans driver's door was such a novel experience I couldn't resist taking a loop down to the house and around the circle-drive! (all that was necessary was a couple of back-n-fills to slide it over and back a bit) Anyway, after that it was a breeze. If you have to have a buddy to hold the door up while you start the bolts.....I doubt y'all will be friends by the time you get it fitted. If you are in position to start the bolts, there is nowhere for him/her to stand, and vise-versa. Door isn't overly heavy but seems so after a few minutes of leaning over trying to suspend it and make fine adjustments. Make sure the window is down, if possible, it gives you a lot more options for hand-holds.
If the latter? It's been awhile but I don't recall any adjustment at all in fit. I believe all of that is in the hinge-to-body fixing. If you are changing doors, you may have to wrestle with it, though..... no two things exactly alike and all that.
