Default Front/Rear Rotor Application Question...

This question is for DD purposes...

Do I have to use the same rotors on the rear as I use on the front of 2003 S-Type R...IE If I am using drilled and slotted rotors on the front can I use just slotted on the rear (and still use the same pad type)?

Any performance danger issues?

Yes.
I don't like drilled rotors for the street. Inspect them often for cracking at the holes. Slotted is considered much better.
See the attached picture of what to look for.

OH POOP! I better check mine considering the flogging I give them.

Not a money thing. They are warrantied for life against warping or cracking.

Is that picture from a car or motorcycle?

I already have the slotted and drilled for the front application...but that is a great pic, thanks for the heads up...definitely keep an eye on them...

I drive the car fairly hard from time to time, so I went with the drilled because during the summer the brakes get pretty hot...

The rotor pictured is from a drilled Lincoln LS front rotor. Or at least it is suppose to be!! I did not take the picture.
