I have a 2005 Jaguar S Type 3.0. The fuel cap door has what appear to be places for a gas cap holder to be clipped onto the inside of the door. The cap itself of course has a tether. I asked the dealer about the gas cap holder and the parts guy said that it was only available on overseas cars and could not be ordered in the US. Does that sound reasonable? Does anyone have a cap holder on the inside of their door? Thanks.

 

Without pics I can't say if it's like mine, which has an angled stub (smaller than 1 finger joint) to hang that tether (strap) over. Works great.

 

Our '05 has what JagV8 has as well, and thanks to Vance580 he showed Norri and I how it works afew years back.

My '05 has a place that I can actually secure the fuel cap, while tethered, to the inside of the fuel door. I'll try to get a picture of it today.
