Gearbox Fault
2006 Jagaur S type 3.0 V6
Hello I am new here and hoping somebody can help me out. So about 6 months ago my car started overheating. It rained in my open sunroof over night as well on the last day i drove it. I dried everything with a towel but the next time i drove i noticed a message gearbox fault.. First time i ever saw that message. I let it sit and recently recieved my tax return and went out and got a transmission with 30k on it and a motor with 90k on it to swap. Had the swap done however the gearbox fault code is still on. At this point i have replaced, ouil filter radiator, waterpump, belt, radiator hose, A/c compressor, alternator, batttery, swapped tranny and engine. I have about 6k into this now and am feeling a bit hopeless. I was hoping that after the swap that code would be gone. I'm just trying to figure out where to start. I called jagaur but because its a 2006 S type they said they won't even look at it. I'm out of funds at this point and cant figure out whats going on. I have been researching non stop and im seeing ECU,TCM,Battery, the selector itself, wiring etc. What would be the best course of action at this point? I don't think its the transmisson because the code was there before swap and after i put the new one in. An help would be greatly appreciated.

Stop replacing parts for no reason?
You must read and follow the codes or otherwise you will get the results you have?
Lot's of money spent and the problems not fixed.
What scanner are you using?
What codes did you have BEFORE replacing the transmission?
Were the engine and transmission EXACTLY the same year and model?
Who did the swap and if you paid them to do it can you bring it back and have them fix it?

I don't understand why you think replacing random parts will fix a specific fault.
You need to read the specific fault, and based on that follow a standard diagnostic procedure to locate the issue.
