glovebox light
Well for the first time I have come across a give up for now scenario on my car...the little glovebox light bulb...I got it out part way with needle nose pliers...of course it broke...I was able to fish the rest of it out with an o ring pick.....30 solid minutes of trying to not only get the bulb into the socket area but also have it clocked the right way...I do not have a lot of feeling in my fingertips because of disc and sciatica issues in my spine...needless to say I finally gave up...first time on this car....I realize I will need to remove the glove box..not a major project, but now it is a matter of principle and pride..another example of the engineers saying "the hell with the owners, we will never have to change that bulb and the dealership can charge an hour to do it". Same thing with the HID lowbeams...oh well, I will give it one more try later and then if no luck, out comes the glove box...Some may say why worry about the light...I have a motto "if it is there I want it working." Besides, the glovebox light does come in handy in the dark.

it would have taken less than half the time to remove the 6 screws to drop the glove box than it did to Type this Winge .
rest assured it does not take 1 hour . More like 3 minutes .
i did not say it would take an hour only that the dealer would charge an hour.. i do not bag on you so why bag on me..i was just sharing an anecdote
when you reinstall make sure the slots in the top of the box fit right...it is easy to get them cockeyed...they should slide up easy...then reverse the order for install...i have a 2006 and i think what i told you will cover down to 2002.5...if one of the members sees this reply hopefully they can guide you to the free manual and you can see the pictures of what i said here..should not take more than 5 or 10 miutes to remove...the screws are torx head..i do not remember the size for sure but t30 comes to mind...i separated the duct from the mesh screen....it was easier to work with..just 1 more plastic rivet to remove.....good luck
