Default Greetings

Just thought I would say Hi to all of the S type owners. I recently sold my X-type after a long and mostly positive ownership experience and picked up a very lightly used 2003 S Type R (23,000 miles) for a song. Very clean, black on black, no chips, dings, scratches or anything, I'm not sure if STR's already come with every option but this one sure seems to have checked every options box.

So far I'm enjoying the car immensely, the thrust is incredible. It will probably be driven until December or so then parked until spring.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi and look forward to posting in this side of the forums.

-Chris

It's not been driven enough!!

Welcome.

Ask any jag franchise nicely and they'll usually give you a multi-page printout of options, colors etc for free

ChrisX, I believe we may have bumped into each other (posting) on the X forum. I had a 2002 X 3.0 and did a new engine (actually salvaged with 45k miles) and full exhaust mod. I traded the X for an 03 STR (silver) in May. Big difference in thrust (X vs STR) huh? Welcome and good luck with your STR.

Thanks for the welcome - I agree she needs some more miles and I plan on delivering! I have to take the Rover in for inspection soon so I'll chat with my service advisor to see if he can pull the options list, thank you.

Hi bfs - yep I remember chatting with you when you were doing your engine project and I believe we had nice dicussion on your custom exhaust and how to tone it down a little if I remember correctly. Glad to "see" ya again. Yes, it's like night and day, the X i had to keep that motor boiling for any performance, the STR is just point and shoot. Love it. I'll miss the X's AWD I'm sure at some point, I had the car for 7 years so I was fond of it. But I don't miss it yet...something about horsepower will do that to a guy.....

Hi Chris, Welcome to the S Type forum and congratulations on your new STR. We chatted before on the X type forum regarding improving fuel economy. I know you'll love your S with its great performance. I washed my 2000 S a couple of days ago and have had several strangers complement its great looks and styling. They are awesome cars.
Best wishes VMV

Smile I remember you from the X Type Forums as well.

Chris:

I remember you from the X Type forums when I frequented them during my period of X Type ownership. Hope your S Type serves you as well as mine has me.

Thanks guys! Good to hear from all of you, I almost went with a Range Rover Sport but once I found the STR I had to have it. Don't worry jagV8, she won't see much snow, i have a couple other snow machines at my disposal.

That looks like an interesting event JO - I might be game for that. I'll definitely have the STR in the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix next July - they have a British Car day as well and it's a fun event. We should work out a schedule and do both!

Amadauss - PM sent.
