From your intro thread you say that it is heating up fast, is it overheating.

Maybe you should start with a pressure test on the cooling system and check the thermostat?

Seems like there must be a more coherent and all-in-one description of the problem just in case someone can figure out the things to do.

I agree, what exactly is the problem?

If you give some details maybe someone can help.

If that's all you have I think you need to gather a lot more.

Well i got the heads off, yes one cylinder was clean, must have been all the water in there. New head bolts are on there way £2.00 each(had to ask in one of my posts why), head gaskets £40 for the two. head skim £60 for the six pots. About £50 for the rest of the gaskets with intake upper and lower in that, spark plugs £22, oil asda(walmart) £20 5ltr full synthetic oil filter £4. I don't think thats bad for a diy'er with a small box of tools, if you want to play with a s-type get a dam good 8mm and 10mm (just like ford). Come to think of it all the gaskets are ford (well well).

Ok just got to rebuild it when all the parts have come, that sould be more fun and then i will find out if this is a diy car.

replace a sill next, because the last owner could not read where to put the wheel jack.

I was going to put some pics on but dont know how.

i dont know, this was how it was when i got the cat. when i picked it up it did seem to run fine but i had a steam room following me, got home and there was a water leak that had been there for some time. i think the head over heated. reading the forum it does happen. also the cat has over 180000 miles on the clock.
