A lot of time if you unplug any airbags or airbag sensors it will throw an airbag light that only the dealer can reset. I have a feeling your going to have to take it in and pay them for an hour of labor unless you can make friends with a tech or service writer and get them to do it for free..

Man, am I confused. That's what I get for trying to help on an S Type, I tell everybody I'm no expert on those fine automobiles. Thanks for the lesson.

You say the headliner was replaced today, which is Sunday in Ohio and in Jupiter, FL. But you didn't bring it back to him when you found the problem. So now you're trying to elicit public assistance to get advice for diagnosing and correcting the fault...that's your option, that's what the forum is here for I guess.

But then you send me a private email asking me how to disable your SRS and traction control failure warnings, claiming that you just don't want to deal with the lights when driving at night. So I respond that disabling safety systems, or warning lights for inoperative safety systems, is not something I get involved with.

So I'm real sorry for my confusion, but I don't have any public or private answers that can help you, no matter what it is you are really trying to accomplish.

Please woud everyone refrain from p*ssing off the Tech guys!! Engage brain before sending a PM to them. Ask yourself would the other members approve the contents if posted in a public forum prior to sending to the Tech. In fact - why not just post it publicly?

The Techs (and the rest of us) do not have to help. Some have already been put off and have abandoned the site. I don't blame them but I sure miss them.

I despair.

Please re-read my post with more care.

Just so you know, ABS/DSC being disabled does affect your drivability unless you do not count safety as a drivability issue.

If you really care so little, remove the lamp or pull a wire.

And I will chime in as well...... I noticed that the "tech" guys have vanished lately as well. That explains it. Please people, listen to jagV8, he's right. If you really want to fix a problem right, ask nicely, and I'm sure someone will help. If you want to rig your car, then go ahead, but I'm pretty sure that members of an "enthusiast" forum aren't going to help or feel it is right. And BTW, ABS and DSC DO IMPACT drivability. These cars are engineered to perform safely with these systems intact. Without them, they would not have the power and handling that they have, even in V6 form. OK, rant over......

Oh, and tech guys... Please don't forsake us because of the few........ Please, Pretty Please......

JagtechOhio or any Jaguar Tech cannot tell you how to disable safety systems such as the seatbelt warnings, airbags, ABS, DSC, etc. They have a code of ethics like many professions do and teaching you how to do something that may possibly endanger you or someone else's life is unethical.
