For my 01 S-Type V6, I bought all six on eBay and they have been fine. They were about $10/ea including shipping. Look just like OEM. For that kind of money, how can I go wrong?

Bear in mind the STR needs very different ones.
If a cheap coil breaks only partially, as is common, you start damaging the cats without knowing until it breaks down more.

In my opinion, the factory units were junk and using cheap replacements is on par with what the factory did originally. There are no "premium" coils, they all do the same thing and fail due to heat from the engine, over time.

However, spend as much money as you feel comfortable.

BIZARRE. When I was doing my Cyber Monday research on the best price for the coils from Advance Auto Parts, a few times it dropped the price by a significant amount, and then when I would go to the cart to check out, it would balance back to the normal price. Weird indeed.

Long story short, I go to advance auto parts tonight, checking to see the price of these again, and the discount price stuck. They are $52.00 a piece, plus free shipping, plus a $50 off code. For that much, approx $350+ I am going to replace all eight. Cheers to me and anyone else who wants some fresh coils.

Junk? Hard to justify bearing in mind various people have cars about 10 years old on their original ones. (Mine's 9.5 yrs old with 103K miles and so far no changed coil.)

Completely wrong again! You are batting 100%!

My 2005 STR has 96K miles and all original coils and plugs with no problems.

They are simply a wear item and you need to plan to replace them when they fail.

Default Coils

I use to buy parts from here:

Ignition Coil - AJ810445 | Jaguar S Type, Jaguar X150 XK - XKR, Jaguar XK8 - XKR, Jaguar XJ - X350 - XJR, Jaguar XF | Jaguar | British Parts UK

49.50 pounds + DHL costs.

Super fast service, super quality of service.
Specifically, they sell regular maintenance kits that include all filters required at good price.

You have owned your car since mile one or you have the complete repair history from the previous owners? Most impressive!

You sure think you know a lot about coil quality on these cars. Lack of evidence isn't helping, though.
