Default Help - where is harness connector...

Hello,

S-type 2000 3.0
Using JTIS to find electrical problems but JTIS doesn't mention specific locations.

I'm looking for transmission vehicle connector harness and plug GB5.

Help.

Thanks.

I don't have your model but with that name the harness is going to be on or along the trans and there won't be many of those (probably one).

Other than looking at the trans (LOL), I'd try the part of JTIS about the auto trans and hope for pics, but the part you're now looking at will already describe the plug colour, # pins, approx location, etc so you can probably find it on/near the trans knowing those details.

edit: on my PC the elec PDF is searchable so it's easy to look for something such as GB5 and see all about it.

The electrical diagrams also have an overall harness layout, connector locations, and connector types.

Harness location is on the side of the transmission.

Oh my gawd...

Please don't say it's "that connector" which attaches to the internal transmission solenoid block (a finger-bending horror-of-a-job removing)...

So if the Pin GB5 is inside the engine bay and the harness connector is below the car - any tips on continuity testing between them...

I'm looking at the solenoid TCC circuit (because I think it's buggered and creating havoc)..

Thanks,
