I don't have elm 327, just orange OBD2 scanner from pep boys, I don't think it can show software versions, but I have a mechanic with laptop that he can use to check it. What nubers should I look for and what is the old or new version?
Thanks

Couple updates, I changed transmission fluid with Castrol, but same story if I push gas slowly shifts from 1st to second almost normal, if hard 2nd gear is slipping and transmission fault message appears, in sport mode shifts are better but again if I floor the pedal it cannot complete the shift until I release gas pedal. OBD same code P0871. I guess only chance is to replace transmission.(((

Did you have the tcm reflashed? If not your wasting money. Personally that would be my starting place.

Take it back and tell them to re-check it out, was it doing it before you took it to the jag dealer? Or it just happened after getting it back from them?
I know you'll be losing money on this option but worst case scenario take it to another Jag dealer.

Did you call Klaus from CTSC website I gave you yesterday like I told you, and tell him your error code? See what he says, since he's a ZF Transmission specialist, thats all I can say for now bro, sorry

...let me know what he says after you explain it throughly to him whats been going on, I'm sure he will have a clue whats going on, and what recommendations you might need to further get to the bottom of it. Don't worry there has to be an answer to this, one way or another without replacing the whole tranny.

Cheers

Cheaper to buy your own elm327 but if not just write down all the TCM calibration data. PCM as well. I can't post the whole spreadsheet.

P0781 is passed from the TCM to the PCM i.e. it is really a code from the TCM, so Klaus will likely have met it (even if with BMW ZFs). A trans replace sounds crazy but that idea is coming from a place that knows next to NOTHING about the ZF. Ignore the jag place on that. To them it's like what you do with a broken lamp.

I talked to Klaus ZF specialist he said I should do the Stall test and see if it slips or not, if slips then it very cheap 12$ part if not I need transmission. My does not go more than 1500rpms this means clutch D is bad and couple more thing. I will try to look for cheap used transmission, it’s very sad that I cannot use one I found from 2004 or 2005 model year.
Thanks and best regards to everyone who helped me on this forum!

....Hey I'm sorry to hear the bad news, at least you found out exactly what is wrong with it by talking to him. You can't just change out clutch D plate and the rest of the bad parts or you have no other choice than to get a rebuilt tranny? Wish I could help out more.

Default Jag Dealer in Florida???

Hello, i have been to two Jaguar Dealerships in Florida, and both refused to do TCM reflash. And both are denying the "lurch" problem exists. Does anyone know of a Jaguar Dealer in Florida that has already done a TCM reflash or will do it. thanks

google "the lurch" and point them at the web site

Then point out that Jaguar Corporate will know this issue well; contact Jag Corp is need be.

The dealers are not owned by Jaguar. Some are a bit useless with facts.....

What year & engine is your car? It may already have been reflashed.

Hey Relaxed Im sorry to hear your car is doing this. I live near Fort Pierce. I Know their mechanics in person. Unfortunatelly the only one there who really knows about Jags was Lenny and he is gone. He does own a Jag repair shop up in Melbourne. He is the only one I will trust. He was the Cheif mechanic down in Jaguar of Lauderdale for over 15years and he has been working with Jags for over 25 years. Anyways Melbourne is rather closer to you. Good luck!
